The Maaman Wirin Bidi Project Wadjemup Aboriginal Burial Ground project is a landmark initiative in truth-telling, cultural healing, and public recognition of one of the most significant sites of Aboriginal incarceration and death in custody in Australia. Located on Wadjemup / Rottnest Island, the Wadjemup Aboriginal Burial Ground contains the unmarked graves of hundreds of Aboriginal men and boys from across Western Australia.
This package of works includes the Wadjemup Aboriginal Burial Ground Memorialisation and the new Rottnest Island Golf Clubhouse Access Road.
