WHS auditing services to deliver the Federal Safety Commissioner's WHS Accreditation Scheme
The Office of Federal Safety Commissioner is undertaking a procurement to re-establish a panel of suitably and experienced specified personnel to deliver WHS auditing and advisory services under the Federal Safety Commissioner's Work Health and Safety Accreditation Scheme (the Scheme). This panel will consist of service providers who nominate specified personnel to be appointed as Federal Safety Officers (FSOs) under the Federal Safety Commissioner Act 2022. FSOs support the Commissioner's statutory functions by conducting audits of WHS management systems and onsite practices of building and construction companies seeking to gain accreditation, or maintain, accreditation under the Scheme. In addition to auditing, FSOs may be engaged to provide ad hoc WHS advisory services including contributing to incident investigations and response, training, and education material. The Scheme has been in operation for 20 years and its primary goal is to improve WHS in the building and construction industry, particularly for projects funded by the Australian Government. The current panel arrangements will expire on 30 June 2026.
