001710 Hogarth Road Design

Hogarth Road is a collector road, bordering the City of Playford’s Health Precinct. Currently the sealed lane widths are approximately 5.85m wide, with no formalised parking. This lane width is much larger than is required, and therefore City of Playford is looking to redesign the road, to make better use of the available spaceTo maximise the use of the available width, Council is requiring a traffic control layout that divides the existing road width into a combination of two traffic lanes, parking lanes and bicycle lanes, dependent on the road use. Council will also require the design of safe crossing points at all bus stops and indented parking bays for buses.In addition to the above, Council would like an assessment undertaken for each roundabout to determine if there is a way to modify the entrance geometry to reduce vehicle entrance speeds and improve safety. The project deliverables include the following: • Traffic control layout for changed use • Pavement design • Assessment options of roundabout geometry • Design of indented bus bays and associated crossing points
