The Westport Program is a long?term infrastructure initiative designed to support Western Australia’s freight future while enhancing environmental and community outcomes. Artificial reefs form a key component of the program’s environmental and social resilience building strategy, providing habitat complexity, supporting biodiversity, and creating recreational opportunities.
The proposed artificial reefs will be located within Cockburn Sound and Owen Anchorage. These installations are intended to complement existing habitat restoration efforts, improve ecological function, and provide new recreational assets for local communities.
