The objective of the BHH Ridley Refurbishment Project is to deliver a subacute care unit with a flexible layout, enabling it to accommodate multiple uses prior to and following operational commencement. This is required ahead of the opening of the New Toowoomba Hospital. Potential interim and operational uses include:
DDH staff digital training and New Toowoomba Hospital (NTH) familiarisation
Decant ward for Building 20, Toowoomba Hospital (TH) Medical Unit 5 (MU5) – a 23-bed subacute inpatient unit, to enable fire compliance upgrades (separately funded project)
Decant ward for Building 23, TH Rehabilitation – a 26-bed subacute inpatient unit, to enable fire compliance upgrades (separately funded project).
This Request for Tender seeks to engage a Principal Contractor for two separate portions under a Design and Construct arrangement.A mandatory site visit is being held on 6 August 2026. See attached Request for Tender documents for further details.
