ARV Mt Buller and Mt Stirling Waste Management Contract

Waste services for the collection, sorting, transport and disposal of landfill, recyclable and hard waste generated within the Mt Buller and Mt Stirling Alpine Resorts; processing organic waste; and the provision of bags for recyclable materials. Operations to be based at Boggy Corner Waste Transfer Station and includes the servicing (cleaning) of villages waste huts, noting, the waste collection from public place bins is managed by ARV Operations and does not form part of this contract.Mt Buller and Mt Stirling Alpine Resorts generate a considerable amount of waste material, typically approximately 700 tonnes per annum. ARV Mt Buller Mt Stirling is seeking to engage a suitably qualified and experienced company to provide waste management services for the Resorts. The contract will include management of waste generated from the resorts and associated activities, including:Domestic waste Commercial waste (hotels, restaurants, lodges, retail outlets) Recyclable materials (cardboard, glass, metals, plastics, clean timber) Hard rubbish and Unacceptable waste management (furniture, whitegoods, e-waste) Organics (food) Waste Transfer Station management Waste management in the Resorts is affected by unique factors including waste volumes varying significantly between summer and winter, non-standard collection methods (manual handling required), lack of landfill/reprocessing, varying environmental conditions (unique equipment required). The waste management service provider is required to be aware of and work to implement requirements of relevant resort, regional, state and federal plans, strategies and policies in conjunction with ARV, and to perform in an environmentally sound manner. They will seek industry efficiencies and innovations wherever possible.
