ED200281 - Panel for Professional Learning Programs for Teachers

The Department of Education (the Department) is seeking to establish a Professional Learning (PL) Program Panel arrangement to provide teachers and their schools with streamlined access to quality PL Programs developed and delivered by external providers.

The provision of quality PL Programs will upskill and expand teacher capabilities to build excellence in every classroom.

Through the use of a Panel arrangement, the Department aims to:

provide improved access to a diverse range of external provider PL Programs across all learning areas and phases of schooling;
improve the quality of teaching practices and capacity of teachers in all phases of schooling;
improve the quality and capacity of teachers in a range of teaching and learning development areas;
provide teachers with extensive understanding of their subject areas and knowledge of how students learn;
provide teachers with a range of evidence‑based strategies and practices to support student engagement, health and wellbeing;
build teacher motivation and capability;
strengthen teaching practices; and
ensure PL is embedded in the school culture.

The PL Program Panel will comprise of the following five learning categories:

Category 1 – Curriculum Support;
Category 2 – Cross-Curriculum Priorities;
Category 3 – Capabilities;
Category 4 – School Improvement; and
Category 5 – Student Diversity.

The Panel will be made accessible to all Department Directorates, Public Education regions, school networks, schools and teachers.
